Tottenham manager Ange Postecoglou has urged the club to decide Harry Kane's future, insisting he is «not slacking» on the England captain situation as Bayern Munich strike a summer deal.
Bayern have so far turned down a £70m offer for Kane and are ready to make an improved offer to entice the chairman» Spurs by Daniel Levy. Kane has less than a year left on his contract and so far there has been no sign of a new contract, raising the possibility that he will leave on a free transfer at the end of next season.
Postekoğlu would like the issue to be resolved anyway to focus on his first campaign as Spurs manager. He has three weeks until the start of the season in Brentford on 13 August and the Australian manager would like any questions regarding Kane's future to be answered by then.

“[It’s fair] to say that I don’t relax about this! It's not like you're saying, «Ah, well, you know if it's going to happen or not!» I mean, it's a very important part of this football club, not just a team, but a football club,» Postecoglou said when answering questions about the captain's future during the pre-season tour of Australia.
«He's such a big figure and like I said, although I don't focus on it every day because I have other things to do, I know that every time I talk to you guys or whenever Harry is going say, this is the first question you get.
“So you have to deal with it, and I think for all concerned, we don't want to do this for too long. I don't think it's good for anyone. I don't think it's good for Harry, I don't think it's good for the club because as much as we want to be laser focused, you end up repeating yourself along the way.
“But the flip side of that is that I don't want to put a deadline because that adds even more pressure. You want these things to happen for the right reasons. The reality is that he is still a contracted player of our football club, so I can see him.
“It does not mean that his contract ends on 12 [August] and he has to make a decision, he has another year. So I'm not relaxed on that side, but I'm not putting pressure on him or anyone else at the football club, saying, «Well, we need to do this.» But I don't think deep down any of us want this to go on for too long.»
Bayern will need to make an offer for Kane that is closer to the £100m mark and bidding could drag on into a three-week season with the transfer window still open. While he is with the team, Postecoglou has said his plans will include the club's top scorer.
Kane has publicly stated his desire to leave the club in 2021 when he wanted to move to Manchester City, but no agreement has been reached between the clubs. However, this time he did not speak about his intentions and is on tour with the Postecoglou team.
