Eric ten Hag backed Marcus Rashford and scored 30 more goals next season if his 'mood is right'.
The England striker, who signed a new five-year deal this month, became the first United player since Robin van Persie 10 years earlier to score 30 goals in last season's campaign.
In February, Ten Hag warned Rashford that he must watch out for «laziness» in order to remain one of Europe's toughest strikers.
And he made a similar call in San Diego during United's US tour, urging Rashford not to lose focus.
«When his attitude is right, he will; it's not easy and the team needs to play well to put him in the right position,” said Ten Hag.
«When a team plays well, so when we follow the rules and the principles of our style of play, and Rashford's attitude is right and he puts himself in the right position, he finishes because he has great ability.
«When he's in the box, he's clinical, ruthless and scores goals with his right foot, left foot and head.»
Players who will follow in Rahm's footsteps
Some United players will head.» They head to Torrey Pines, the world famous golf course in the La Jolla area of San Diego, on Friday when Ten Hag gave them the day off.
United have three fourballs booked for the day, and the field — the site of John Ram's 2021 US Open victory — is about a 20-minute walk from the team's hotel. Defenders Harry Maguire and Scott McTominay and goaltenders Tom Heaton and Nathan Bishop walked part of the pitch on Monday morning.
McTominay is a golfer, like Heaton and Maguire, and took part in the Scottish Open Pro-Am at the Renaissance Club in North Berwick a week before heading to the US for United's pre-season tour.
McElhenney watched Wrexham's match
Wrexham players should watch the San Diego Padres baseball team on Wednesday night after the United friendly.
But Wrexham manager Phil Parkinson will not be joining his players at Petco Park to see the Padres play the Pittsburgh Pirates. Parkinson will instead travel to San Diego with his wife to celebrate her birthday.
Ryan Reynolds, co-owner of Wrexham and Hollywood star of the Deadpool franchise, will not be at The Lion's Serpent to watch a League Two team play a young United, as he is currently filming in London.
But Rob McElhenney, his co the owner and fellow actor will be at the match to cheer for Parkinson.
Ten Hag cuts promotional days
Ten Hag has reduced United's tour days from three to two. The United manager understands the importance of the club promoting its brand, but not at the expense of football, and it's not uncommon to see the Dutchman block what he doesn't like in this regard.
