The second generation of the Japanese rear-wheel drive sports car is gradually acquiring various special versions. The Subaru BRZ tS debuted last weekend in the US at the Subiefest California festival, and differs from other versions of the tS in a number of technical and cosmetic improvements. The second generation Subaru BRZ was introduced in the fall of 2020 and turned out to be, in fact, a deep restyling of the first generation model, and now it also has a tS version — it will appear at US Subaru dealers in the first quarter of 2024 and will be the most expensive in the range. This time there are no circulation restrictions.

The main feature of the tS version is a modified chassis: lightweight Hitachi shock absorbers are installed in the suspension, tuned by STI specialists and providing the sports car with more precise control, and behind the thin spokes of black 18-inch wheels of a special design, Brembo brakes with gold-colored calipers are more powerful than other versions. The diameter of the front brake discs is 325 mm (four-piston calipers), the rear ones are 315 mm (two-piston calipers). Tires — Michelin Pilot Sport 4 dimensions 215/40 R18.

Curiously, the MCP now works great with EyeSight stereo cameras under the windshield and electronic driver assistants tied to them.

Recall that the Subaru BRZ has a twin brother — Toyota GR86, for which the Performance Package was announced last month, with which the Toyota GR86 becomes an analogue of the Subaru BRZ tS, but there are differences: Toyota uses the shocks are ZF Sachs rather than Hitachi, and the transmission could also be automatic, as the Performance Package will be offered as an upgrade for the second-generation machines that have already been released.
