Prosecutors said Zhi Alan Cheng, 33, filmed his attacks in New York, Las Vegas, San Francisco and Thailand for several years.
He was first arrested in December 2022 and fired from New York-Presbyterian Hospital in Queens after his then-girlfriend discovered and reported videos of him allegedly assaulting her and several other women.
Police later found recreational drugs such as cocaine and ecstasy at his home, as well as several anesthetics, as well as a cache of records.

Mr. Cheng appeared in court on Monday and was charged with 50 new counts, including rape, sexual assault and illegal surveillance, and pleaded not guilty to the charges.
Prosecutors cited dozens of short videos in which he allegedly raped women, including a 19-year-old patient suffering from gallstones and a «critically ill» 47-year-old girl.
The new allegations involve six women — three patients were attacked in the hospital and three more at his home. All of them appeared to be unconscious at the time of the attacks.
At least five other unidentified women were filmed being attacked in hotel rooms or homes in the US and Thailand.
However, prosecutors fear there may be other victims who have yet to be identified.Melinda Katz, the Queens County District Attorney, urged other victims to come forward, saying the evidence points to «a sexual predator of the absolute worst kind.» , a serial rapist.»

In one case, Mr. Cheng is accused of filming a 37-year-old patient lying unconscious at a prominent Queens hospital in 2021.
He is accused of that he filmed himself raping a woman he met through a dating app.
According to authorities, the footage shows a small brown bottle that looks like a bottle of strong anesthetic, seized during a search of Mr. Cheng's apartment.
The same year, he is accused of raping a 19-year-old girl. a year-old patient who was being treated for severe pain associated with gallstones.
Mr. Cheng performed an unnecessary examination, injected the woman with an «unknown substance» and raped her, prosecutors said.
Nicholas Liakas, lawyer for the victims, called the doctor «virtually a predator in a white coat».
He said he was wary of the brazen nature of Mr. Cheng's brutal and methodical attacks, which suggest he may have targeted other patients.
«In order to rise to that level, when you enter drugs and rape a person, it doesn’t happen overnight,” Mr. Liacas told NBC in New York.
Many of the women later woke up with no memory of what had happened, prosecutors said.

The hospital intends to review its patient safety policy and provide additional training to all staff, she said.
