Jeremy Docu is one of the best young players from Belgium. is being considered at Manchester City looking for a replacement following the departure of Riyad Mahrez.
The 21-year-old is believed to be a candidate as the treble winners close in on reinforcements for Josep Guardiola's team.
Docu was an international teammate of Kevin De Bruyne who knows the youngster's ability to fit in with City, having played with him in recent European and World Cups.
As of yet Stade Rennes have not made any official offers but he is expected to be the French club's record transfer player when he eventually leaves, surpassing the £35m West Ham paid for Nayef Agerd last summer .
Doku is valued by the Ligue 1 team at between €50m (£43.18m) and €60m (£51.82m), with personal terms not an issue if the deal goes through. He was bought for 26 million euros (22.45 million pounds) from Anderlecht and although his form was mixed, he is still considered one of the most promising talents in Europe.
Guardiola assessed his team after Mahrez, 32, joined Al Ahli in Saudi Arabia in a £30m deal, leaving a gap in the squad for one of City's reliable strikers.
England Under-21 striker Cole Palmer scored at the Community Shield but admitted at Wembley that he would have to discuss his future as he needed regular games. Brighton are known to have made an offer worth around £30m earlier this summer.
Guardiola has already convinced Kyle Walker to stay at the Etihad Stadium amid interest from Bayern Munich. The England right-back is now likely to remain at the club, regaining his place at the end of last season.
The City manager also insisted to Wembley that keeping Bernardo Silva was his wish. The Portugal midfielder is attracting interest in Europe and Saudi Arabia.
