The Japanese brand's new SUV is expected to debut in India next year and reach the European market in 2025.
To date, there is not a single mass electric vehicle in the current model range of the Suzuki brand. Nevertheless, the company does not ignore modern trends: in fact, the “greening” process has already started: for example, in January of this year, the Japanese manufacturer presented the Suzuki eVX concept, the debut of the prototype of the future crossover took place as part of the Auto Expo in India. Then it became known that the serial version would be global.
Suzuki eVX Concept
The eVX concept crossover was developed by Suzuki together with another Japanese manufacturer, Toyota. There is a possibility that Toyota will later acquire a new product that will turn out to be the twin of the Suzuki model. It is worth noting that the serial crossover may receive a different name, but the company has not yet declassified what it will be. />
The development project of the novelty is now in full swing: last month, a disguised prototype of the novelty was seen during tests on public roads in southern Europe. Despite the dense film, some of the details can still be seen. Judging by the pictures, the headlights and taillights of the production version of the Suzuki crossover will be different from the optics of the show car. >Render of Suzuki's new crossover based on the eVX concept
The manufacturer has not yet launched a teaser campaign and did not give any hints about what the serial crossover will look like, which will be based on the eVX concept. The designer of the Spanish publication Motor.es offers his own version of the potential appearance of the future Suzuki novelty: the render was based on recent spy photos of the prototype. jpg» /> In the photo: a prototype of the future Suzuki crossover
The length of the compact SUV will be 4.3 meters. It is possible that it can become a fully electric successor to the Suzuki S-Cross (in the Russian market, this model was sold under the name SX4). Judging by the render, the model will receive expressive stampings on the hood, as well as large head optics: LED running lights pass from above, and below are the main headlight units. Between them is a chrome strip and a plug that merges with the bumper. In the center, you can see a large and also chrome-plated brand logo in the form of the letter “S”.The car in the image has a massive body kit around the perimeter of the body made of unpainted plastic. A large air intake is visible at the bottom of the front bumper, on the sides of which round foglights are located. In profile, you can see the “squared” wheel arches, the charging port in the front fender, the traditional door handles at the front doors and hidden in the pillars at the rear. Silver roof rails are visible on the panoramic roof. The cabin is expected to feature a digital instrument cluster and a large central touchscreen for the infotainment system. It is known that Suzuki's first electric crossover will receive a 60 kWh traction battery, which will be placed between the axles. The maximum power reserve according to the passport will be 450 km (when calculated according to the WLTP cycle). According to preliminary data, the SUV will have versions with a single electric motor and with a twin-engine power plant, details about the technique will become known later. It is expected that the presentation of new items in India will take place next year, and in Europe it will debut in 2025.
