An SUV with a rather bold exterior design will enter the home market next month, the model will be offered as a HEV hybrid.
Wuling, which is part of a joint venture between General Motors and SAIC, officially announced its new cross brand back in May, and he did this a few days after the model appeared in certification pictures. The Chinese name for the SUV is Xingyun, but in English it sounds like Nebula. So now the brand has clarified the timing of the appearance of the SUV in the local market: the start of sales is scheduled for September. Fresh branded images and videos posted at the same time.

The SUV has an unusual appearance. Wuling Nebula received a flattened “nose” and chrome-framed diode strips of running lights, which also act as dynamic turn signals; the main headlights are set lower, and they are also enclosed in shiny massive frames. The cross also got a rectangular radiator grille with a lot of chrome-plated “dots”. The rear lights are made in the form of a single narrow line. In terms of dimensions, the Nebula crossover is comparable to the Toyota RAV4: the length of the “Chinese” is 4610 mm, the width is 1810 mm, the height is 1670 mm, the wheelbase is 2700 mm.

There were still no separate images of the interior at the time of the publication of the news, although the available frames show that the tidy is combined with the screen of the multimedia system. However, these are two displays: a vertical air deflector is located between them. By the way, the interior of the already discontinued Baojun RM-5 compact van (Baojun is another joint project of GM and SAIC) was decorated in a similar way. Yes, and the body of the car is similar, which allowed some Chinese media to suggest that the Nebula is nothing more than the RM-5 that changed the brand, image and market positioning. Be that as it may, the Wuling novelty also has a panoramic roof and all-round cameras.

The Wuling Nebula will be available to the Chinese with a hybrid installation based on a 136-horsepower aspirated 2.0 (without the possibility of charging from the mains). The total return has not yet been named. Most likely, the cross will be offered exclusively in front-wheel drive.
Meanwhile, earlier Wuling announced another new model — the first sedan in its range.
