A first look at the reboot of the hit comedy series Frasier was released ahead of its October air date.
Paramount+ announced on Tuesday that the new show, which will once again star Kelsey Grammer as psychiatrist Dr. Fraser Crane, will air on October 12.
Only Fools and Horses star Nicholas Lyndhurst will play Fraser's old college friend turned university professor Alan Cornwall when he joins the 10-episode season.
Filmed in front of a live audience at Paramount Studios in Los Angeles, the new series sees Fraser return to Boston, where the character originally appeared on the US sitcom Cheers, with «new challenges to face, new relationships to adjust, and with the old. a dream or two to finally come true.»

Fraser had his own spin-off show in Seattle in 1993 which ran until 2004 and also previously starred Jane Leeves as the Manchester housekeeper, Daphne Moon, David Hyde Pierce as his brother, Dr. Niles Crane and Peri Gilpin. as long-suffering producer of his radio talk show, Roz Doyle.
After making only occasional appearances on the original series, Fraser's son, Freddie, was recast at Paramount+ show featuring Deception star and British actor Jack Cutmore-Scott.
A new character, Olivia, played by Tox Olagunda, was also created as Lyndhurst's colleague and head of the university's psychology department.

The new images show character Olagunda having a drink with Frazier and Alan, while another image shows the psychologist Radio Host sitting on the couch with his son.
The Expanse star Jess Salgueiro also joins the show in as Freddie's roommate Eva and Anders Keith as Fraser's nephew David.
The teaser also features a new recording of the show's original theme song, Tossed Salads & scrambled eggs and the promise that «there will be no more callers», but there will be «all new calls».
Over the course of its run, the original comedy has received numerous awards and widespread critical acclaim, including Grammer won Emmy awards, Golden Globe and Screen Actors Guild awards for his role in the series.
The series has 37 Emmy awards out of 107 nominations.
