Polestones 01 is the global plug-in name for the Jishi 01 hybrid SUV that debuted in China last week. From the outside, the Polestones 01 strongly resembles the British Land Rover Defender 130 — this week it was revealed that the Shanghai studio of the Italian studio Pininfarina was responsible for the parody style of the «Chinese».
Jishi Automobile, aka Polestones Automobile, is a subsidiary of Rox Motor startup, founded in 2021 by talented Chinese entrepreneur Chan Jing, aka Richard Chan. Before joining the auto business, Chang Jing launched the now very successful company Beijing Stone Century Technology in 2014, aka Beijing Roborock Technology in the international market — this company produces robotic vacuum cleaners under the Roborock brand, one of its investors is Xiaomi.
Jishi translated from Latinized Chinese into English means Stone, that is, “stone”, but the global Polestones brand does not have a direct translation from English, but if you disassemble the word Polestones in parts, you get “upper stones”. Since the premiere of Jishi 01 last week, the company has had its own website with the international address polestones.com, but so far all the information on it is presented only in Chinese.

Today this hieroglyph is translated into Russian as “teacher” or “mentor”, but in the past it had a slightly different style and meant “army” or “army”. The internal combustion engine in Polestones 01 is not mechanically connected to the wheels and works only in the mode of an electricity generator, which is stored in a battery with a capacity of 56.01 kWh. The Polestones 01 is driven by two electric motors (one per axle), the front one produces 150 kW (204 hp) and 340 Nm, the rear — 200 kW (272 hp) and 400 Nm. The maximum cumulative output of the power plant is 350 kW (476 hp) and 740 Nm. Up to 100 km/h, the hybrid SUV accelerates in 5.5 seconds, the maximum speed is limited at around 190 km/h. The volume of the fuel tank is 70 liters. The power reserve on electric traction is 235 km according to the WLTP cycle, in hybrid mode — 1115 km. The curb weight is 2580-2660 kg depending on the configuration.
The Polestones 01 has a load-bearing body, overall length — 5050 mm (with a spare wheel on the tailgate — 5295 mm), width — 1980 mm, height — 1869 mm, wheelbase — 3010 mm. Suspension — spring with adaptive shock absorbers, front double wishbones, rear multi-link. The high T-shaped front panel has no physical buttons.
