In the Land of the Rising Sun, the luxury MPV is offered as an all-wheel drive hybrid, with only one configuration so far — the most sophisticated.
The first generation Lexus LM van debuted in 2019. It was initially announced as a model created specifically for China (sales there started in 2020), but later the MPV of the premium brand appeared in other Asian countries, although the list was short. But the “second” LM, presented in the spring of this year, was immediately declared a global model. Such a minivan is already available in China, Southeast Asia and Europe. And now the Lexus LM is entering the Japanese market for the first time.

The minivan is based on the GA-K platform, created within the framework of Toyota's TNGA architecture. Let us remind you that the new single-volume Toyota Alphard and Vellfire were built on the same “trolley”. The length of the Lexus LM intended for Japan is 5125 mm, width – 1890 mm, height – 1945 or 1955 mm (with 17- or 19-inch wheels, respectively), wheelbase – 3000 mm.
The Japanese van is available in the only hybrid modification LM 500h with all-wheel drive (in other countries there is also a younger version 350h). The system included a 2.4 petrol turbo engine (275 hp) and an 87 hp electric motor. and a six-speed automatic transmission, and a separate electric motor with 103 hp is installed on the rear axle. Total output – 371 hp

There is also one trim level — Executive, and it is the most sophisticated. This Lexus LM has a four-seater interior with a partition, while in other markets the minivan is also offered in a three-row version. The LM Executive passenger compartment has two VIP seats; they have retractable footrests, heating, ventilation and a massager. Between the seats there is a massive cabinet, in its upper part there is a platform for two remote controls, from which you can control all settings, and in the lower part there are a pair of lockable compartments.

A 48-inch display is built into the partition itself. In addition, it has a window with rising glass (with one click of a button it can be made opaque). Under the “TV” there is still space for a refrigerator and a glove compartment. The minivan also received a special climate control system: thermal sensors are integrated into the partition; they detect the temperature of passengers and the cabin using infrared radiation, in order to then more accurately understand where and to what extent heating or cooling is required (neck, arms or legs).
