The premiere of the new product from the American brand will take place in the middle of next month at the Los Angeles Auto Show.
The company Atieva began its activities in 2007: then it was developing electric power plants based on the Mercedes-Benz Vito. Later, in 2016, the American startup changed its name to Lucid Motors, and the rebranding took place on the eve of the official presentation of the prototype of the brand’s first child, we are talking about a full-size completely “green” Air sedan. The role of the second model of the relatively young brand will be played by a crossover, which was named Gravity.

Now the startup, renamed Lucid Group, is preparing for the imminent presentation of the production version of its second model. Let us remind you that the company officially announced a seven-seater SUV in September 2020, and the message was accompanied by its first teasers. The manufacturer declassified some details about the new product in October 2021, and photographs of the prototype, complete with a number of technical data, appeared last fall.

Now the Californian brand has published a new teaser, probably for a serial crossover, and also declassified the presentation date. Thus, Lucid Gravity will debut next month, November 16, at the start of the Los Angeles Auto Show. The photo shows part of the stern with a canopy in the shape of a narrow curved strip. Let us remind you that in the prototype such a line runs across the entire width of the tailgate, and above the center there is an illuminated brand name.
As Kolesa.ru reported earlier, the Gravity crossover will be maximally unified with the Air sedan in terms of design and technology; in particular, electric vehicles will share the LEAP (Lucid Electric Advanced Platform) platform. The SUV will likely have adaptive air suspension with sport settings. There is no information about the capacity of the traction battery yet; the estimated range on one charge will be about 644 km.

The interior of the “green” crossover will be offered in different configurations: it will be two- or three-row, and in the second row there will be either a standard three-seater sofa or a pair of individual armchairs. The company also said that Gravity will receive a spacious front trunk; in addition, it will have huge windows above the passengers of the second and third rows, and the developers have assigned the roof's strength elements to the first row of seats.
Recall that the new SUV will have a top-end Sapphire version; the large electric Air sedan now has a similar option. This four-door is equipped with a three-engine power plant, the total output of which exceeds 1200 hp. To accelerate from zero to almost “hundreds” (up to 96.6 km/h), Air needs 1.89 seconds, and its maximum speed is 330 km/h.
Lucid Group also said that mass production of Gravity will start at the end of next year, so the first electric SUVs will reach their customers, most likely in 2025 The price tag is only indicative for now: the starting price is expected to exceed 100 thousand dollars.
