The range of the Dongfeng Aeolus Mage crossover, which was promised to Russia, has been expanded

The SUV has acquired a purely electric version in its homeland, and there such a five-door is considered a separate model.

In China, orders for the “green” cross-country Dongfeng Aeolus Sky EV01 have begun to be accepted. The model is positioned as a completely new one, although in reality this is a variation of the Dongfeng Aeolus Haohan petrol SUV. The latter debuted in the summer of this year; it also comes in the form of a hybrid. By the way, the original Haohan was also promised to Russia, but here the five-door will be sold under the name Mage. However, let's return to electrocross.

The Sky EV01 is based on the DSMA-E platform, that is, a modified version of DSMA, which, in turn, is legally based on the CMP “trolley” of the Stellantis concern. The electric SUV has original bumpers and a “blind” insert in place of the radiator grille. In other respects, the Sky EV01 looks identical to its brothers with an internal combustion engine.

The length of the electric version is equal 4670 mm, which is 20 mm more than that of Haohan/Mage, width – 1900 mm (-5 mm compared to purely gasoline and hybrid crosses), height – 1613 mm (-17 mm). The distance between the axles is the same 2775 mm as that of the donor SUV. The certified ground clearance of the electric car is 145 mm.

In the cabin there is a different steering wheel, in addition, the central tunnel has been redone. Like SUVs with internal combustion engines, the Aeolus Sky EV01 has a separate instrument screen (10.25 inches) and a multimedia system with a vertical tablet (10.4 inches). The list of new equipment also includes LED optics, 18-inch wheels, “sports” seats, climate control and adaptive cruise control.

Dongfeng Aeolus Sky EV01 is offered with a single electric motor, it is installed on the front axle and produces 163 hp. and 310 Nm. The SUV is equipped with a lithium iron phosphate battery with a capacity of 50.82 kWh. The declared range is 445 km on the CLTC cycle. It is claimed that the electric crossover will reach the first “hundred” in 8.7 seconds.

The preliminary starting price of Aeolus Sky EV01 is 129,900 yuan, which is equivalent to approximately 1,657,000 rubles at the current exchange rate. For comparison, the gasoline Aeolus Haohan now costs from 89,900 yuan (about 1,147,000 rubles), the hybrid — from 99,900 yuan (1,274,000 rubles).

As for Russia, they promise to bring the original Haohan/Mage to us until the end first quarter of next year, this SUV will be accompanied by seven more new products, but there are no purely electric models on the list yet.
