The restyled Kia K5 sedan appeared alive

At the moment, the modernized four-door is presented only on the domestic market, where the model is offered with the same technology.

The exterior and interior of the updated Kia K5 sedan were revealed last week, and at the same time pre-orders began to be accepted in its native Korea. And now the brand has moved on to the next stage of promoting the model: branded videos have been published. In addition, the restyled four-door was caught in the wild: footage of the car without any camouflage was posted on the Korean YouTube channel Woopa TV.

Restyling brought the Kia K5 different optics. Thus, the headlights now have additional sections integrated into the new bumper, and the diode pattern of the daytime running lights is now more like a flash of lightning, although the company continues to compare the pattern to a heartbeat. The rear lights were made “fanged”, while the plate connecting them lost the “dotted lines”. The sedan also received a new radiator grille, in addition, the design of the wheels was changed.

The dimensions of the updated model are still not disclosed. The length of the pre-reform “five”, intended for Korea, is 4905 mm, width – 1860 mm, height – 1445 mm. Wheelbase — 2850 mm.

A curved display was installed inside — this is a tidy device and a touchscreen of a multimedia system, each 12.3 inches diagonal, placed under one glass. Multimedia software is updated over the air. In addition, the front panel was redone and the climate control control unit was replaced.

In the home market, the Kia K5 is available with the same technology. The range includes petrol naturally aspirated 2.0 (160 hp) and turbo-four 1.6 T-GDI (180 hp), in Korea you can also buy a sedan with a gas engine 2.0 LPI (146 hp) and a hybrid HEV (then available without the possibility of charging from the mains) with an installation based on a 2.0 engine (152 hp).

Four-doors with two-liter engines are equipped with a six-speed automatic transmission, the turbo version has an 8-speed automatic transmission. It's front-wheel drive only, although the model has an all-wheel drive option in North America. But Kia announced an improved suspension.

In Korea, “live” sales of the updated Kia K5 sedan will start in the near future. Then this model will reach other countries.
