Minister of Health of Kamchatka Gashkov was seriously injured in an accident on a business trip

The media report about an accident in Kamchatka, in which one person died and three were injured — among them was the regional health minister Alexander Gashkov.

As reported by «Kam 24», on the Nachiki-Kavalerskoye-Ust-Bolsheretsk highway, two cars with six people inside collided head-on. According to preliminary data, one victim died on the spot, and three more people received various injuries. It is reported that Minister Gashkov is among the wounded.

“The minister is in serious condition with many fractures,” the publication says.

According to the publication, Gashkov, together with the deputy head of the development department Denis Fedotov was on a business trip in the Ust-Bolsheretsky municipal district; the accident occurred on the way back.

It was previously established that the cause of the accident was one of the cars driving into the oncoming lane. Police officers are working at the scene.

According to Baza, Gashkov was “diagnosed with fractures of the ribs and pelvic bones” and was hospitalized in the Kamchatka Regional Hospital. Governor Vladimir Solodov said that the official's life was not in danger.

The driver of the official car, as well as Fedotov, received minor injuries, TASS reports.
