GC Solar and the government of the Kaluga region have signed an agreement on cooperation in the field of information security.
The agreement was signed by the CEO of GC Solar Igor Lyapunov and the Deputy Governor of the Kaluga region Dmitry Razumovsky in the presence of Governor Vladislav Shapsha within the framework of the SPIEF.
The agreement includes work in several areas: from analysis and forecasting of major information security trends and current cyber threats, research into promising developments of software and equipment in the information security field, to a review of modern technologies and methods for detecting cyber attacks and taking measures to timely identify threats in cyberspace. Partners are exploring the possibility of strengthening the cyber resilience of regional authorities using solutions from Solar Group, such as the Solar Dozor DLP system and the Solar CyberBoost comprehensive training program to improve the skills of information security specialists.
“Today, regional digital economy projects are being implemented in the Kaluga region, and on our territory there are 12 industrial parks housing high-tech production and other projects of the largest organizations from key sectors of the economy. The level of cybersecurity must correspond to the level of digitalization of the region, noted Dmitry Razumovsky. “Against the backdrop of the growing intensity of cyber attacks, it is important for us to preserve the region’s critical information infrastructure intact and ensure its uninterrupted functioning. Cooperation with the Solar Group of Companies will allow us not only to strengthen protection against current cyber threats, but also to regularly increase the expertise of specialists from our relevant departments in the field of information security.»
According to the Solar Group of Companies since the beginning 2024, the public sector remains the leader in the number of DDoS attacks. It accounted for 17% of all attacks committed on Russian organizations during this period, while in general there has been a surge in this type of activity by attackers: 265 thousand DDoS attacks were recorded on the Russian economy (almost 90% of the figure for the entire 2023).
“We know first-hand that government infrastructure, as well as social and economic organizations remain in the crosshairs of attackers, and attacks do not lose their mass and intensity — half of the country’s critical infrastructure is under the protection of Solar. Russian state digitalization is carried out taking into account these circumstances — it is close to the ideal model, when digital platforms, systems and services are created in a secure environment, when technological leadership goes hand in hand with cybersecurity, and similar agreements at the national and regional levels are clear confirmation of this . We believe that cooperation with the government of the Kaluga region will be another step towards a long-term and productive dialogue between experts of our company and representatives of the region, and will also help strengthen the cybersecurity of the entire country,” Igor Lyapunov commented on the signing of the agreement.
