The old Nissan Qashqai will have its production life extended: photo of the updated “second” crossover

The previous generation compact SUV will have its front end radically redesigned. Such an SUV could hit the market this year.

The current, third generation Nissan Qashqai crossover has been in service since 2021; its production has been launched in Europe and China. At the same time, the previous model with the “surname” Classic is also still produced and sold in the Middle Kingdom (cars of both generations are made by the Dongfeng Nissan joint venture). The European SUV has recently undergone a restyling. And now the updated Qashqai for China has been revealed. But not the “third”, but the “second”! Certification photos of such a crossover were discovered by Cheshi.

Judging by the pictures, the Nissan Qashqai will have a completely different “face”, and it will be designed in the style of the Chinese Nissan Pathfinder. The new headlights will merge with the radiator grille, the grille itself will become larger and will lose the chrome V-shaped insert. The SUV will also receive a different front bumper, and a new trim will appear on the rear. The lanterns will retain their shape, but will darken. On the tailgate you can still see the new “surname” — Glory.

The length of the crossover will increase by only 6 mm to 4407 mm. The wheelbase size will obviously not change — 2646 mm. For comparison, the figures for the third generation Nissan Qashqai for China are: 4440 and 2665 mm.

According to preliminary data, the restyled “second” Qashqai will be offered with the same naturally aspirated 2.0 petrol engine (151 hp) and a CVT. The third generation crossover in China is available with a 1.3 turbo engine (158 hp) and CVT. In any case, the drive is only front-wheel drive.

The official premiere of the Nissan Qashqai Glory with a new design may take place before the end of this year. The “third” SUV will probably be updated in the style of the Euro version. The price of the pre-reform Qashqai Classic now starts at 125,900 yuan (about 1.5 million rubles at the current rate), the third generation cross will cost at least 139,900 yuan (1.68 million rubles).
