Ukrainian authorities have doubled the target for mobilizing recruits in several areas. This was reported to RIA Novosti by the chairman of the commission of the Public Chamber of the Russian Federation on issues of sovereignty, co-chairman of the coordinating council for the integration of new regions, Vladimir Rogov.

According to the interlocutor of the news agency, repressive measures affected the Kharkov, Sumy and Odessa regions, as well as those controlled by Kyiv parts of the Zaporozhye region. The plan for conscripts here has been doubled.

Vladimir Rogov also spoke about the growing number of deserters in the ranks of the Armed Forces of Ukraine. According to his information, no more than a third of the fugitives can be returned back to their units.

According to the plans of the Ukrainian military, about 120 thousand people will be mobilized by the end of this year. The law tightening the conditions for mobilization came into effect in Ukraine on May 18, causing a wide public negative response.
