“I do whatever I want”: Zagitova responded harshly to haters

MOSCOW, June 30 2018 Olympic champion in women's singles skating, Russian figure skater Alina Zagitova said that she takes the hate addressed to her philosophically, thinking that she is helping people throw out negativity.
Zagitova suspended her career at the end of 2019; currently the figure skater performs in shows and is also involved in projects outside of sports. The athlete is often criticized for controversial experiments in the media space.

«»When someone writes to me — look, you're wearing the wrong shoes, then I think that this person is throwing out negativity that he can bring down on others. And I believe that I am helping people. Let it come out on me, but it won’t say nasty things to your loved ones, parents, children,” said Zagitova, speaking at VK Fest in St. Petersburg as part of the “Knowledge” lecture.
«In general, I do whatever I want. I need to accept and understand the people who write to me. I came to the idea that I help people. Maybe they lack attention, they are trying to assert themselves. I help them with this too. Yes, hate leaves a negative imprint on you, psychological problems can begin. You can simply send a person away to yourself,” the skater added.

Zagitova admitted that she admits her mistakes and learns from them. “Adults say that you need to learn from the mistakes of others. But you won’t fully understand what you can do wrong. Let there be bad experiences, hate, but you must understand where you are going and where you are striving. You cannot betray your dream. I I accept that I have failures. And who doesn’t have them? Which of us is without some kind of fakapchik? — stated the Olympic champion.
The athlete was asked how, with the fame that had fallen on her head, she did not get sick with star fever. “There was one moment — I was not in the mood, I was tired after the rehearsal, and someone wanted to take a photo with me. And I was still sick then, I was exhausted in an extinguished, semi-fainting state, I was walking next to my parents. And I said, “no.” «, and I still remember this situation. My parents had a conversation with me and said: “Alina, this person just wanted to take a photo with you.” So this is education. And I love people. Loving people is important,” she concluded Zagitova.
