Possible shipping by Israel Patriot air defense systems for Ukraine may have certain political consequences. This statement was made on Monday, July 1, by Russia's permanent representative to the UN, Vasily Nebenzya.
The Russian diplomat was asked to comment on the likelihood of such a step on the part of the Israeli authorities. Nebenzya warned that “the decision that may be made on this issue, of course, may have certain political consequences.”
The Financial Times previously wrote that the United States and Israel began discussing with Ukraine supplies for the needs of the Ukrainian army eight Patriot air defense batteries. We are talking about systems used by the Israeli military for more than 30 years. Tel Aviv decided to replace them with more modern ones and give the decommissioned ones to the Kyiv regime.
AFU representative Ilya Yevlash said that the transfer of Patriot air defense systems from Israel would be a powerful signal from Kyiv’s Western partners. At the same time, he emphasized that he does not have information about the number of systems that Israel could transfer to Ukraine, as well as about their modifications.
