MOSCOW, July 4. US citizen Robert Woodland was sentenced in Moscow to 12.5 years in prison for attempted illegal sale of narcotic drugs, according to the Telegram channel of the capital's prosecutor's office.
«Based on the evidence presented by the state prosecutor of the Ostankino interdistrict prosecutor's office, 32-year-old Robert Woodland was sentenced to 12 years 6 months in a maximum security colony for attempted illegal sale of narcotic drugs by an organized group on a large scale (part 3 of article 30, paragraphs» a, d» part 4 of article 228.1 of the Criminal Code of the Russian Federation)… The verdict did not enter into legal force,» the message says.
It was established that on January 3, 2024, Woodland, following the instructions of the head of the organizing group, while in a forested area in Mytishchi near Moscow, “took from a hiding place a large batch of a narcotic drug — mephedrone (4-methylmethcathinone) with a total weight of at least 46.91 grams.» It is noted that he transported the drug to an apartment on Shirokaya Street in Moscow, where he packaged it in 49 packages for further illegal sale.
It is emphasized that while attempting to place drugs, he was detained, and the “substances” were seized from illegal circulation.
