CHELYABINSK, July 5 The court arrested for 2 months the former deputy head of Chelyabinsk — chairman of the committee on urban planning and architecture, who is accused by investigators of receiving a bribe of at least 10 million rubles, the press center of the regional prosecutor's office reported.

“The Central District Court of Chelyabinsk granted the request of the investigative body, choosing a preventive measure for the accused in the form of detention for a period of 2 months, until September 4, 2024,” the report says.
As reported by the investigative department of the Investigative Committee of the Russian Federation for the region, in 2017-2019, an official received a bribe in the amount of at least 10 million rubles through an intermediary from employees of a commercial structure. For this, the official had to provide assistance to the city committee for urban planning and architecture in the preparation, coordination and approval of documentation for the planning of one of the territories of the Sovetsky district. In turn, in 2019, the latter, temporarily acting as head of Chelyabinsk, signed the relevant documents. 
The Russian Investigative Committee for the Chelyabinsk Region has opened a criminal case on the grounds of a crime under Part 6 of Article 290 of the Criminal Code of Russia (taking a bribe on an especially large scale); the former chairman of the Committee on Urban Planning and Architecture of Chelyabinsk was detained.
Previously, a source in law enforcement agencies explained that we are talking about the detention of Sergei Reprintsev. He served as deputy head of Chelyabinsk in 2017-2019, after which he headed the committee for construction and architecture, from where he resigned at the beginning of 2020.
