The Jetta brand on the Russian market: now completely official

The model line in the Russian Federation includes three cars: the Jetta VA3 sedan, as well as the VS5 and VS7 crossovers.

The Jetta brand, which appeared in 2019, belongs to a joint venture between FAW and Volkswagen, its main market is China, but later the geography became wider. Car production is established in China at the facilities of the FAW plant from components supplied by VW. The release is accompanied by German quality control; one-step stamping and filling of cavities with wax are used.

Jetta models were brought to the Russian Federation at the end of 2022 — beginning of 2023: then several large dealers organized deliveries of cars to the country under a parallel import scheme. The first to go on sale were the Jetta VA3 sedan and the VS5 SUV (in some way a Chinese replacement for the Skoda Rapid/Volkswagen Polo and Skoda Karoq that left the Russian market). Later they were joined by the VS7 crossover (which is a “stretched” version of the VS5).

Now the Jetta brand is officially legalized in the Russian Federation. Its interests here are represented by the company FAV-Eastern Europe; its portfolio also includes products from the Bestune and Hongqi brands. Now the brand has an official Russian website where you can find out the prices of sedans and crossovers, as well as find dealers in various cities offering Jetta brand models.

The recommended retail price of the Jetta VA3 sedan today varies from 1,928,000 to 2,022,000 rubles (including promotions — from 1,780,000 to 1,882,000 rubles). For the Jetta VS5 SUV they ask from 2,952,000 to 3,152,000 rubles (2,452,000 — 2,652,000 rubles), and the purchase of the Jetta VS7 crossover will cost Russians 3,217,000 — 3,379,000 rubles (2,717,000 — 2,879,000 rubles ). Cars of the brand in the Russian Federation have a warranty of two years or 100 thousand kilometers.

The four-door is equipped with a 1.5-liter MPI naturally aspirated engine, its output is 111 hp and the maximum torque is 145 Nm. This engine is paired with either a five-speed manual transmission or a six-speed automatic from Aisin; front-wheel drive only.

The crossovers have divided the “filling”: its role is played by the VW EA211 series turbo-four of volume 1 .4 liters. Power is 150 hp, maximum torque is 250 Nm. The kit comes with only a six-speed automatic transmission; both Jetta models also have only front-wheel drive.

We would like to remind you that in March of this year, sales of the refreshed Jetta VS5 and VS7 crossovers started, but so far only on the domestic market. During the update, SUVs had their exterior design tweaked (different bumpers, a different radiator grille and an inscription with the brand name instead of an emblem on the rear), the interior remained the same, and the equipment was not changed either.
