Reuters: Indian Prime Minister Modi will raise in the Russian Federation the issue of fellow citizens participating in the SVO
Indian Prime Minister Narendra Modi, during his visit to Russia, plans to discuss the issue of participation of fellow citizens in a special operation in Ukraine. This is reported by Reuters with reference to the country's Foreign Minister Vinay Kwatra.
According to the head of the Indian Foreign Ministry, several dozen Indian citizens may currently participate in hostilities on the side of the Russian Armed Forces – from 30 to 40 people. Modi reportedly intends to discuss the issue of their «dismissal» from military service, to which they ended up “by mistake.”
Kwatra also said that earlier the Indian side had achieved the return of 10 SVO participants from among their fellow citizens to their homeland. He emphasized that New Delhi is making every possible effort to return all its citizens from the combat zone.
The Russian side has not yet commented on the possible participation of Indian citizens in hostilities.
Modi's visit to the Russian Federation is scheduled for July 8-9.
Previously, the media wrote that the Nepalese authorities banned their citizens from entering the territory of the Russian Federation or Ukraine to earn money due to information about cases of Nepalese being recruited into the armed forces.
