Nismo returns to Europe: Nissan announced the “charged” crossover Ariya

It is expected that the new version of the SUV will receive a dual-engine power plant and a “senior” traction battery, the useful capacity of which is 87 kWh .

Nismo is a division of Nissan that creates sports cars and «charged» versions of regular models of the Japanese brand. This year it turns 40 years old and the manufacturer has timed the creation of a «hot» modification of its «green» Ariya SUV to coincide with this event. Now it has become known that this version will appear on the European market as well, and thus the Nismo division will return to the region (previously the GT-R Nismo sports car was sold here).

In the old-world office, they announced the expansion of the local brand line at the expense of the Nissan Ariya Nismo, revealed the features of the exterior and interior of the “hot” version, but many details about the “filling” were still “behind the scenes.” It is possible that the technology will be the same as the version for the domestic market: we recall that the “charged” SUV was presented at the beginning of this year at the Tokyo Motor Show.

The “warmed-up” crossover has the same head optics with a proprietary cap in place of the traditional radiator grille, like the regular Ariya, but the front bumper is designed differently. The Nismo version received modified side and central air intakes, and a splitter made of glossy black plastic was integrated into the edge of the lower part. This SUV also has a contrasting red thin stripe that covers the perimeter of the body. In addition, the exterior mirror housings were given red touches.

The stern also received its share of changes, while the Nissan Ariya Nismo has the same lights, made in the form of a single wide strip running across the entire width of the tailgate. At the bottom of the bumper you can see the Nismo nameplate with a red “o” and an additional spoiler located directly above the line of the rear optics. There is no information about the European version yet, but it is known that the Japanese version will have a new set of original 20-inch wheels.

There are also differences from the “regular” SUV in the interior of the “charged” version, but apart from the sports seats, we are mainly talking about the decor. The design includes red accents on the center console and dashboard, matching lighting and stitching on the dark upholstery. The front seats were also equipped with embroidery with the name of the sports division.

So far, Nissan has said that the Ariya Nismo will enter the old-world market with upgraded brakes, a reconfigured e-4orce system, and a traction battery with a useful capacity of 87 kWh. Note that the Japanese version of the “hot” crossover also has such a battery. There is also a “junior” version for 63 kWh.

“Home” The Nissan Ariya Nismo is offered with a dual-engine power plant (one electric motor on each axle) in two power options. The version with a less capacious battery has a total output of 367 hp. (maximum torque is 560 Nm), and the second version has 435 hp. (600 Nm).

It is expected that the “hot” SUV will appear on the European market before the end of this year. Prices will be announced later.
