Honda Odyssey minivan updated: bigger screens and higher prices

A van intended for the American market has undergone another modernization. The models have slightly tweaked their appearance and also shaken up the list of available equipment. All equipment is the same.

In the current range of Honda, in fact, there are two different minivans with the Odyssey name: for Asia and North America. The first is produced in China, from where it is also supplied to the brand’s native Japan. The second model is made in the USA. And it was the American division of Honda that today once again presented a modernized single-volume car. Let us remind you that this Odyssey has been in the current generation since 2017; the previous restyling was carried out in 2020. By the way, the minivan finished last year in the States with an impressive “plus” — 74,738 copies were sold (+57%). But in 2024, sales dipped slightly: the result of six months was 39,257 units (-0.5%).

Honda Odyssey received a new radiator grille, in addition, the bumpers were retouched. Moreover, the company itself compared the design of the stern with the style of the already discontinued Acura NSX supercar: they say that the minivan has the same vertical reflectors. The palette of body colors has also been expanded, and the top version Elite has 19-inch wheels of a new design.

A 7-inch digital instrument panel was installed inside. In addition, the refreshed Honda Odyssey by default has a new, faster multimedia system with a 9-inch screen (previously there was an 8-inch diagonal touchscreen) and wireless charging for a smartphone (the pre-reform van only had the most expensive configuration). The number of USB-C connectors has been increased.

The list of trim levels has been revised — the cheapest EX version has been removed from the line. The EX-L variant became the base one. The list of equipment for this Odyssey also includes an electric sunroof, heated front seats, an electric tailgate and the Honda Sensing complex (adaptive cruise control, auto braking and lane keeping systems). The “sportier” Sport modification has been renamed Sport-L, its features are black exterior decor (including wheels) and red lighting in the interior.

The next highest trim level, Touring, adds satellite navigation, an interior camera, sunshades for the third row and a new tablet for rear passengers — a 12.8-inch display is mounted to the ceiling (was 10.2 inches). Finally, the top-end Honda Odyssey Elite also includes a rain sensor, perforated leather, ventilated front seats, a heated steering wheel and a contactless trunk opening function.

The technique is the same. The minivan is equipped with a V6 3.5 naturally aspirated petrol engine with a power of 284 hp, which is paired with a ten-speed automatic transmission. Front-wheel drive only.

Since the old “base” is no longer there, the price has increased. However, other versions have also become more expensive. For the updated Honda Odyssey they are asking from 41,920 to 50,880 dollars (hereinafter — excluding taxes and delivery), which is equivalent to approximately 3.7 million — 4.5 million rubles at the current exchange rate. The pre-reform minivan is still available at dealers; it costs $38,240 — $50,370 (about 3.4 million — 4.4 million rubles).
