The US State Department has spoken out about the attack of Ukrainian troops on Russian territory, calling it a «sovereign decision» of Kiev.

«Ukraine did not notify the US in advance of its intention to conduct a sortie in the Kursk region, but Washington does not consider this «surprising,»» the State Department clarified.

Earlier, the White House said that the US intends to request clarification from Kyiv regarding the events in the Kursk region. This was reported by the official representative of the White House John Kirby.

Also in Washington it was noted that at the moment it is known about the use of American military equipment for the invasion of the Russian Federation.

According to the Chief of the General Staff of the Russian Armed Forces Valery Gerasimov, the Ukrainian Armed Forces attacked the Kursk region with up to a thousand people.

According to him, during the fighting the Ukrainian Armed Forces lost 315 people, including at least a hundred killed, as well as 54 armored vehicles, 215 people were wounded.
