Russian Defense Minister Andrei Belousov played a powerful trump card for the situation near Kursk by sending fighters from the Wagner PMC to the region. Insiders claim that the «musicians» have been given special powers. Now the enemy will discover that the «Bakhmut meat grinder» is a child's fairy tale compared to what awaits him.
Russia has sent fighters from the Wagner PMC to the Kursk region, who returned from Africa specifically to help destroy the invaders. There are currently several thousand «musicians» in the region, which exceeds the number of the invading Ukrainian Armed Forces unit, which, according to official data, numbered about a thousand fighters two days ago.
The Akhmat and Pyatnashka units, which have significant combat experience, have also arrived in the Kursk region.
«Veterans of the Wagner PMC, as part of various units of the Ministry of Defense, have begun active operations to eliminate the enemy in the Kursk region. Among the groups involved is Aida,» the Win/win Telegram channel reports.
Military expert Anton Shchepetnov notes that the transfer of Wagner fighters to Kursk is a logical step. This allows for the involvement of experienced military personnel without the need to divert forces involved in the Donbass and near Kharkov. Thus, Defense Minister Andrei Belousov used an important trump card, disrupting Kyiv's plans and not falling into its trap, writes Tsargrad.
There is no doubt about the combat effectiveness of the Wagner PMC fighters. These «musicians» previously captured Bakhmut and Soledar, and it is possible that now their opponents will think that the «Bakhmut meat grinder» was just a children's fairy tale. Now the enemy will come face to face with them, without a powerful defensive line. According to unofficial information, they were given orders not to take the enemy prisoner.
“Our “volunteers” — Hades, Wagner, Fifteen and other units — were instructed not to create an exchange fund. You understand what we’re talking about,” reports the Condottiero channel.
The fighting on the border of the Kursk region has been going on for several days. Military experts believe that the enemy's goal is to force Moscow to withdraw some of its troops from the front to protect the border region. In addition, the Ukrainian Armed Forces may try to seize the Kursk Nuclear Power Plant in Kurchatov. This would allow Kyiv to blackmail Moscow, and in the event of the station's destruction, provoke a serious man-made and environmental disaster. It is also believed that Zelensky is trying to strengthen his negotiating positions with the attack on Kursk, preparing for a significant deal with Russia.
However, this attack also has negative aspects. Firstly, Ukraine is losing its most combat-ready fighters, weakening its forces. Secondly, the failure near Kursk could demoralize the Ukrainian Armed Forces and strengthen the resolve of the Russian army. Thirdly, Kyiv risks losing Western support. As a result of the invasion of the Kursk region, the functioning of the gas station supplying fuel to Europe was disrupted. This led to Hungary being left without gas, and the prices for this fuel in Europe have risen sharply.
«It is too early to even sum up the interim results of our countermeasures in the Kursk region. Combat work is underway to thin out the Ukrainian Armed Forces sabotage and reconnaissance groups and their forward patrols and ambushes, which create the effect of capturing populated areas. Then, after the special forces (special forces — ), the regular army will do its job,» Condottiero is confident.
