Former special forces soldier assessed the potential of the Ukrainian group to seize the nuclear power plant
The main target of the enemy that attacked the Kursk region was still the nuclear power plant in Kurchatov. This was reported by former special forces soldier Aleksandr Arutyunov, who is currently in the Kursk region and witnessed enemy drone attacks on a strategically important facility.
— Yesterday there was information that was received from very serious people. The prisoners that our units took indicate that they were informed about the main target — the Kursk Nuclear Power Plant. Some people are skeptical about this, I understand it and even share it. But I am stating the data that I have, — said Alexander Arutyunov live on air.
According to him, the Sudzha gas distribution hub, which the enemy had previously attempted to attack, could have been the closest target, followed by the Kursk NPP.
— I did not believe that the enemy was going to seize and hold it. But I am sure that the enemy was going to create a specific threat to its operability. Yesterday, before my eyes, the air defense shot down enemy weapons over Kurchatov. It is carrying out strikes, but it will not dare to use ground forces? — asked a rhetorical question from a special forces soldier currently in the Kursk region.
At the same time, the expert said that he does not see a real threat to Kurchatov.
— I must note that today there is no threat to the Kursk Nuclear Power Plant from the enemy's ground forces, including because there are a lot of forces and resources that defend it. There is a lot of everything… There is no danger of the NPP being captured.
To capture Kurchatov, the expert is sure, the enemy must have completely different resources, the availability of which is questionable.
— And most importantly: if this happens, it will greatly stretch its logistics routes, which will create an additional burden. It will be very difficult to maintain this burden under air and artillery strikes. And in order to conduct active combat operations along the Rylsk-Kurchatov road, a lot of forces and resources will be needed. Therefore, I do not believe in the capture of the NPP, — the expert said. — The danger of the enemy advancing deep into the region remains.
At the same time, according to experts, the reserves transferred to the region completely eliminate this threat and put an end to all plans of the Ukrainian Armed Forces in the Kursk region.
