The Dutch company Carice Cars showed the second model in its history — the TC2 electric roadster, which weighs 630 kg and can travel on a single charge more than 300 km.
Carice Cars was founded by mechanical engineer Richard Holleman, its name is a peculiar fusion of the words “car” (Car) and “Richard” (Richard), that is, “machine Richard.» In 2013, Carice Cars introduced its first model, the Carice MK1 electric roadster with a plastic body on a steel frame and a design inspired by the Porsche 356 Speedster.

The Carice MK1 weighed about 350 kg and was offered with several electric motor options (from 5 to 54 hp) starting at 26,620 euros. How many copies of the MK1 were made is unknown — in 2017 the company disappeared from the radar and stopped maintaining accounts in social networks, but recently returned to life with a new model — Carice TC2.

The Carice TC2 is essentially a complete reimagining of the MK1, with more modern technology and a more stylish body, but still reminiscent of the Porsche 356 Speedster. Plastic is still widely used in the design, but the curb weight has increased to 630 kg. p>The official premiere of the Carice TC2 will take place next Saturday, May 13, but the Dutch magazine AutoWeek has already reported that the new roadster will receive a battery with a capacity of 31.5 kWh, a full charge of which will be enough for more than 300 km of run. The peak power of the electric motor is 40 kW (54 hp).

Compared to that of the MK1, the interior has become noticeably neater and nobler. The trim now uses a lot more leather, there are full-fledged door cards with pockets for things and more comfortable seats. Around the instrument panel, fixed in the center of the front panel, control lamps and toggle switches are scattered (including those responsible for the modes of the power plant), but there is no multimedia system screen and microclimate unit, although there is a folding fabric roof in case of rain.
Carice TC2
Despite its simplicity and austerity, Carice TC2 costs a lot — from 53,854 euros (including taxes), while the entire debut batch is already sold out, so new customers will have to queue up and wait for several months. Carice TC2 will be produced at the company's own small factory in Voorhout.
