>The German brand introduced its global «green» liftback Volkswagen ID.7 in the middle of last month. Recall that the prototype of the novelty was the ID.Vizzion show car, shown back in 2018, the prototype closer to the series was called ID.Aero, which debuted in 2022. Now the company has “revealed all the cards” regarding the usual “five-door”, but the debut of the “charged” version of the model is still ahead.

The “hot” modification of the ID.7, like other similar electric vehicles of the brand, will receive an increase in the name GTX. Obviously, such a version will have several details in the exterior, according to which a “charged” liftback can be distinguished from a “normal” one. So far, the manufacturer keeps the appearance of the future novelty a secret, but he nevertheless decided to share a few shots.
Judging by the published teasers, the novelty is expected to receive nameplates indicating the version, a slightly different pattern of headlights, as well as taillights (the shape of the optics is the same). The company emphasized that the Volkswagen ID.7 GTX will receive a recognizable red and black body color and exterior and interior details corresponding to the “charged” versions. In particular, the model has a black roof, tinted windows, and contrasting red stitching is used in the trim of the seats, doors and front panel. .jpg» />Volkswagen ID.7 GTX teasers
As Kolesa.ru told earlier, the Volkswagen ID.7 is based on the MEB modular platform. The overall length of the global version of the liftback is 4961 mm, the width is 1862 mm, the height is 1538 mm, and the distance between the axles is 2966 mm. As a result, the size of the model surpassed the European version of the four-door VW Passat, which it replaced. It is expected that the dimensions of the «charged» electric hatchback will be the same.

So far, there is practically no official information about the ID.7 GTX technology. The company only talked about the fact that the model will have all-wheel drive (that is, most likely, it will receive a twin-engine power plant). According to unconfirmed information, a 110-horsepower electric motor (like the ID.4 GTX) may be on the front axle, and a 286-horsepower electric motor from the range of the usual “seven” will probably be placed on the rear axle. According to Autocar, for a «charged» liftback, the total return of the installation can be 395 hp.
It is possible that the batteries of the novelty will be the same as the regular Volkswagen ID.7. Recall that the European version will be offered with two battery options to choose from: with a capacity of either 82 or 91 kWh. The power reserve on one charge in the first case is about 615 km, in the second — about 700 km (when calculated according to the WLTP cycle).
The company confirmed that the “charged” version of the ID liftback. 7 will be officially presented at the International Motor Show, which will be held in September 2023 in Munich (Germany).
