The Chinese brand Kaiyi is one of the new partners of the Kaliningrad Avtotor to replace BMW, Hyundai and Kia that have ceased cooperation. The first-born of the brand, which, by the way, is partly owned by Chery, was the E5 sedan (redesigned Chery Arrizo 7): the model “registered” at the Russian enterprise at the beginning of this year, it went on sale in March. Previously, the “four-door” was available in the only top-end Luxury package, but now the range has been expanded. True, they expected a simpler version from the distributor Kai Rus (part of the Avtotor structure), but the second version, on the contrary, turned out to be a little richer and, accordingly, more expensive.

So, the new version was called Luxury +, according to the description on the manufacturer's website, the list of equipment additionally includes a 10-inch digital instrument cluster (Luxury has a 7-inch screen and analog dials), heated windshield washer nozzles and a heated steering wheel. Interestingly, the Kaiyi sedan does not have a full-fledged virtual dashboard today in its homeland.

The engine is still the same — a 1.5 petrol “turbo four” from Chery, which produces 147 hp on our Kaiyi E5 sedan. and 210 Nm, the motor is combined with a CVT.
The recommended price of the Luxury + version on the brand's website is “from 1,999,000 rubles”, while “just” Luxury will cost 1,959,000 rubles. Avtotor did not announce the start of sales at the time of publication of the news. As for more affordable trim levels, they are expected to be, but later.
