A minivan with a retro appearance will be offered in a version with an extended wheelbase: the distance between the axles is 3239 mm (by 250 mm more).

At the heart of the Volkswagen ID. Buzz lies on the modular MEB platform. The distance between the axles of the new version is 3239 mm, which is 250 mm more than the short wheelbase version. The overall length has grown by the same 250 mm, so that for the “stretched” version it is 4962 mm. At the same time, the developers expanded the front doors by 60 mm, and the openings of the side sliding doors by 190 mm.
An elongated minivan will be offered a third row of seats for an extra charge, it is designed for two riders. Now the second row is a non-alternative three-seater sofa (it can move forward and backward by 200 mm), but the company promised to offer the option of installing two separate «captain's» chairs in the future. The seven-seater version of the Volkswagen ID. Buzz trunk volume is 306 liters. With the second and third row seats folded down, the figure rises to 2469 litres.

New version of ID. Buzz received a different technique, however, it, like the third row of seats, is offered as an option. The “stuffing” is borrowed from the relatively recently introduced “green” Volkswagen ID.7 liftback: we are talking about a 286-horsepower electric motor located on the rear axle, its maximum torque is 550 Nm.

The “stretched” minivan was equipped with a traction battery, the effective capacity of which is 85 kWh, the range on a single charge has not yet been declassified by the company. This passenger van takes 7.9 seconds to accelerate from standstill to 100 km/h, and its top speed is electronically limited to 160 km/h.

Standard equipment for the long-wheelbase Volkswagen ID. The old Buzz is an electric motor, also located on the rear axle, its return is 204 hp. This option is equipped with a less capacious battery (77 kWh). Its top speed is 145 km/h.

The company has announced another version that will expand the family — we are talking about all-wheel drive version of the Volkswagen ID. Buzz with the addition of GTX. This version will receive a twin-engine power plant (one electric motor on each axle), the total output of this system will be 339 hp, and from 0 to 100 km/h such a car can accelerate to 6.4 seconds. In addition, the Germans are going to declassify the ID autocamper in the future. Buzz California.
Note that Volkswagen ID. The long-wheelbase Buzz has been given new options, including a 1.54-meter panoramic single-pane glass roof, a head-up display, front seat ventilation, and an updated infotainment system. Later they will be offered for short-wheelbase variants.
