The new small pickup Ram Rampage showed up without camouflage

The American brand has officially declassified the name of its new product, which is intended for the South American market.

The Ram brand belongs to the young auto giant Stellantis, its products are presented in the domestic market and in other countries. In the South American market, for example, in Brazil, the brand's current lineup includes the full-size Ram 1500, 1500 Classic pickups (this is a variant of the previous generation of the model that is still in service), as well as modifications of the 2500 and 3500. A new pickup will soon join the range: the company officially declassified his name — Rampage.

The name of the novelty in translation from English means «excitement», «fury», «rage». The company believes that a model with this name will be able to «shake up» the Brazilian pickup market. By the way, earlier this name was used by the Dodge brand: under it, from 1982 to 1984, a truck with a single cab was produced. Later, in 2006, the manufacturer used the word Rampage for a concept pickup truck with a two-row cab and rear sliding doors. />Pictured: Ram Rampage

Ram Rampage is a joint development of the company's engineers from Brazil and the USA. Now the manufacturer has shown the exterior of a small pickup truck and allowed to «take a look» at its interior. Judging by the published images and videos, the model will receive a large black grille, an abundance of unpainted plastic, including as a body kit around the perimeter of the body, and the same color of the side mirror housings. From the front, the embossed hood and laconic optics with C-shaped LED running lights also attract attention.

The profile was decorated with original rims and the name of the model, the pickup truck also has a double cab, and the door handles are traditional and painted in body color. At the stern there is a large inscription with the name of the brand, made in black letters, and the lights have an unusual light pattern, made in the form of the letter «D», which is partially shaded with horizontal lines.

Ram Rampage will receive a modern interior, the touchscreen of the Uconnect 5 infotainment system will be placed on the front panel in the center, the diagonal of this display will be 10.25 inches. In addition, the truck will have a virtual instrument panel (the diagonal of this screen will be known later). The novelty will receive seats trimmed with perforated black leather with white stitching.

Earlier, the company said that under the hood of a small Ram pickup will be a Hurricane 4 engine, although technical details have not yet been disclosed. The future truck will be the first car with this engine produced in South America. According to preliminary data, under the hood of the novelty will be a 2.0-liter four-cylinder gasoline engine, which is equipped with the current Jeep Wrangler (Jeep brand is also owned by Stellantis). It should be noted that the output of this motor in an SUV is 274 hp, and the maximum torque is 400 Nm.

The company has not yet announced the exact date of the official presentation of Ram Rampage. It is known that the new pickup will debut before the end of this year.
