The Russian company Sollers is going to restart its engine plant located in the Alabuga special economic zone (previously, engines for Ford cars).
The manufacturer Sollers in September last year updated its special investment contract (SPIC) to better match the development in current economic realities. This document was «tailored» to the localization of two JAC commercial vehicles in Yelabuga, we recall that they were presented in November under the names of Sollers Atlant and Sollers Argo. At the same time, the screwdriver assembly of these two machines started at the Sollers Alabuga plant.

As Kolesa.ru reported earlier, this year it is planned to switch to full-cycle production — with stamping, painting and production of key components, including electronic components, chassis parts and diesel engines. Now, Sollers has officially announced the signing of a loan agreement with the Industrial Development Fund: the funds will go to a project for the production of diesel engines. .jpg» />On the photo: Sollers Argo
It is reported that in order to implement this project, Sollers will restart the engine plant located in the Alabuga SEZ (they used to produce engines for Ford cars here). In addition, the manufacturer intends to involve its engineering center in the Republic of Tatarstan (it develops, launches and certifies new products and other engineering solutions).
The company explained that the size of the preferential loan is 1.7 billion rubles (the total amount of investments is 2.2 billion rubles), this money will be used to establish the production of «new generation diesel engines» in the Russian Federation, their volume will be from 2.0 to 2 .7 liters. By the way, at the end of last year it became known that the process of localization of a two-liter Chinese diesel engine JAC and a six-speed manual gearbox to it had started.
Then it was reported that, according to the plan, the production of this power unit should be mastered by 2024, while Sollers intends to equip UAZ cars with it as well (they lost their own ZMZ-514 diesel engine back in 2016). It is known that next year the “automatic” will return to domestic cars manufactured at the Ulyanovsk Automobile Plant, but there are no details about it yet. » />On the photo: UAZ Patriot
Today, the chairman of the board of directors of PJSC Sollers, Adil Shirinov, confirmed that the manufacturer is going to «modernize the range of UAZ vehicles by equipping them with a new 2.0-liter engine.» He added that “the long-term goal of this project is the emergence in Russia of highly localized small-capacity diesel engines for the needs of the automotive industry, as well as other industries, including special and power engineering, agricultural machinery, shipbuilding and others.”
In the photo: UAZ PickupSollers noted that the list of design solutions for the line of diesel engines with a displacement of 2.0 to 2 .7 liters includes a timing chain drive, a cast-iron cylinder head and others, which allows them to be used even in difficult operating conditions. The manufacturer also noted that these diesel engines in the future have the ability to comply with the Euro-6 standard.
150 hp and maximum torque — 235 Nm. Recall that Sollers Atlant is available with two diesel engines to choose from (139 and 150 hp), and Sollers Argo is equipped with either a 130-horsepower diesel engine or a 147-horsepower gasoline version.
