The name of the compact crossover – C-HR – stands for Compact High Rider. The model appeared in 2016, the premiere of the first generation took place as part of the Geneva Motor Show. Restyling this SUV of the Japanese brand survived in 2019. Now the manufacturer is completing the development of a new generation of the model: the presentation will take place in Europe at the end of this month.

The second generation Toyota C-HR will be based on the C-HR Prologue concept, which was introduced at the end of last year. Later, pictures of the prototype of the novelty, which was on road tests, were published on the Web. At the beginning of this year, designer Kolesa.ru published renderings that show what the new C-HR might look like. Whether these assumptions coincided with reality, we will find out very soon.The company is still keeping the exterior and interior of the novelty a secret. But to stir up interest in the crossover, Toyota has released a teaser for the next C-HR. In the darkened image, only the silhouette of the car can be seen, and we see only its stern, as well as optics. The rear lights are made of three horizontal lines, which are interconnected by a similar luminous plate across the entire width of the tailgate. The name of the brand and model is located in the center.
It is not possible to study the details yet, but if you look closely, you can see the outline of a roof spoiler, a shark fin antenna, wide wheel arches and traditional exterior mirrors. Earlier, the manufacturer, without disclosing details, said that the interior of the new Toyota C-HR will be “more spacious and practical” compared to the current model. Previously, photo spies were able to see a virtual dashboard and a large touchscreen multimedia system in the cabin.
The new generation Toyota C-HR will be based on the TNGA-C architecture. It is known that the crossover will have modifications of “regular” hybrids and plug-in hybrids. Earlier it became known that the “brother” of the next generation C-HR will also be presented in Europe: we are talking about an all-electric crossover, which will be based on the Toyota bZ Compact SUV concept.
As previously reported , the model left the North American market, so the second-generation Toyota C-HR will not be in the US or Canada.
