Ben Stokes and Brandon McCallum insist that England must attack, attack, attack. So far, this new approach has been very interesting and successful, but they have not come across such quality bowlers as these Aussies.
If England can win this way, I and many others will tip their hats to them.

The choice between the two teams is small. England has the advantage in shooting, but Australia is stronger in bowling.
The average order of England is good, but almost everyone has concerns about our newcomers. Zach Crowley has a great shooting range and excellent timing, but his defense is rubbish. You can be the best hitting player in the world, but if you can't stay in the game, you won't be able to make consistent runs.
Ben Duckett did well on level ground in Pakistan and against a weak Irish team at Lord's. This is good and not to be laughed at. It's not his fault that bowling in Ireland was below the test standard or that it was easy to hit in Pakistan. He did his job well.
He scores many runs by opening the front of his bat and sending the ball over the gully and back spot. But at the beginning of the game against a new ball, I would recommend him to be very careful, because this Aussie attack has real pace and is easy to take down, otherwise the ball will slide off the face of the bat on slips.
< p>There are a few juicy moments when both sides hit. Enough to keep you interested in this series. Will Stuart Broad keep the tree over David Warner?

I think so. Warner isn't as strong as he was a few years ago, and as Brod walks around the gate, David doesn't seem to know where his stump is. He flirts with wide balls. Removing him cheaply would do him enormous psychological damage and any impact he might have on this series. If he gets runs and his confidence builds, his forward shots can be very devastating.
Can England stop Steve Smith from scoring like Bradman? Yes, if they place it in this «no man's land». Steve wants to stay on the sidelines and only come forward when the ball is full enough to dribble.
The English seamstresses need to get him out of his comfort zone as often as possible by bringing him forward, and the captain needs to give his seamstresses extra protection with a fielder in cover and in the middle. Steve is the best batsman and it will take a lot of discipline, patience and skill to force yourself on him.
For me their best batsman is Marnus Labouchagne. Technically he is very good and on the run after a good game for Glamorgan. He doesn't have any particular weaknesses, but he likes to score fast so I think you need to starve him and play on his patience.
Once Ben was appointed, he made it very clear that he wanted to fight fire with fire and throw fast bowlers into Australia. He knows that speed is the ace in tough test cricket.
Fast bowling gives the team an edge like no other. Australia has real quality pace in Pat Cummins and Mitchell Stark and, if he's fully prepared, a superb high fast mid-bowler in Josh Hazlewood. Scott Boland is not as hostile, but a very good fast medium pressure bowler.
Ben was hoping that Jofra Archer and Mark Wood would give him some extra firepower, but let's be honest, Jofra is prone to injury. He has an outstanding talent, but his body just can't handle the hard work required to play fast ball.
The ECB continues to pay him in the hope that one day he will be able to compete in Test cricket. In my opinion, they should release him from his contract and let Jofra get in shape to play four overs in the IPL for big money. If he is lucky, and he deserves it, his body will be able to withstand this for several years, and the financial reward will provide him for the rest of his life.
Wood has improved to the point where he can generate some serious pace, but he needs to put his all into every ball to do so. While it is commendable to see such genuine commitment, it puts a huge strain on his body. That's why he pitches well and then gets injured. He could be useful for England, but the big question is, will he stay fit? How many tests will he play? Perhaps that is why he was not allowed into Edgbaston.
'Broad produced one of those «throw me if you dare» performances in Lord's'

In addition, our captain has a «pain» in his knee, which has prevented him from playing much bowling lately. When he bowls, he has to grimace through the pain barrier. Not ideal. Will he let him down completely? If Ben manages some overs, will they be of any use?
Moen Ali's bat and ball results against Australia are poor. But does it matter? Do you think that past performances should be taken into account? Should it be «horses for the course», because in this case, Moin is not a good substitute for Jack Leach.
Personally, I would seriously consider Joe Root as a fill slow bowler over Moin. Joe has a lot of variety in off-spin. He's good against southpaws and he's a tough cookie in the heat of the fight. So they still keep their full set of wicket-batsman batsmen and get four quality assured seamers whether Stokes bowls are used or not. This means the captain should only play ball in exceptional circumstances.

Australia captain Pat Cummins says David Warner will strike and take charge of his old nemesis Stuart Broad when Ashes starts Friday.
Cummins declined to name a team prior to the draw, but it is certain that Warner will open with Usman Khawaja and take on top England players James Anderson and Broad.
Earlier, England skipper Ben Stokes said he would 'lie if I said no' when asked if Broad's reputation against Warner had crossed his mind when choosing sides. Mark Wood, who would have offered a faster pace, missed out on Broad. In 2019, Warner averaged just 9.5 in 10 innings, and Broad tormented him by firing him seven times.
«I don't think he's too surprised,» Cummins said of Warner's reaction to Broad's choice. .
“I'm sure he's thought about it a lot over the past four years, hoping to try again. So no, not too surprised.
“I know Davey has all the plans in place. I'm sure you'll see a more aggressive Davey than perhaps in 2019 and he can't wait to get out there and get another chance.»

Stokes said that England simply couldn't leave Broad unattended given his record in big games.
«When you say Broad, [Ollie] Robinson, Anderson, it's pretty good three guys to be able to, say, in your starting lineup,” he said. «Brody's record against Australia is unbelievable and it's very hard to overlook such a player in the first game of the series, especially against Australia.»
England brought Moen Ali back from retirement to replace Jack Leach, who has a stress fracture in his back. Stokes said the decision was made «with my heart and my intuition, not my brain.»
«We were shocked when we learned about Lychee, both for the team and for himself,» added Stokes. «The way he's progressed over the last year and what he's offering as a bowler is going to be a big mistake for us.
“But I had to think carefully about who we would replace him with. I couldn't help but notice a player like Mo, who, although a long time ago, showed an incredible scoring game. It was a feeling of the stomach and heart, not my brain. As a rule, so far I have stuck to my heart and my intuition throughout my captaincy. Moin Ali is going to come here and I look at what he has to offer in his best days and don't worry about anything else.»
Cummins has confirmed that in Australia Josh Hazlewood is available again after suffering an injury from his World Testing final win.
«We have a team but we will announce it tomorrow, mainly because we don't have time tell all the members of our team,” he said. «Let's save that for later.»

“At the beginning of this series there was some speculation about Starcy and his place, we all know how good he is and how good he was at bowling. «, he said.
«But just that the release of the pressure of the first ball, taking the wicket and setting up the whole series — it was my first ball as captain, so it's a little nerve-racking. Also. It was just one of those iconic Ashes moments that seems to be in every episode.»
