Daniel Farke is among the candidates for a job at Leeds as they intensify their search for a manager to spearhead their league campaign next season.
The 46-year-old German coach left his position at Bundesliga club Borussia Mönchengladbach earlier this month and has been evaluating his next options, which could now include a return to English football after managing Norwich City's return to the Premier League twice.
Leeds is evaluating a number of candidates and plans to speak with the final applicants next week before making a decision.
Italian businessman Andrea Radrizzani has agreed to the sale of the club to 49ers Enterprises and finding a new manager is a priority in the near future.
Other early contenders included Scott Parker, who was also promoted twice in the league, and Carlos Corberán, after working at Elland Road during Marcelo Bielsa's era at the club, were among the first contenders, according to Telegraph Sport. Steven Gerrard was believed to be interested in the role.
Farke became one of the options later in the hiring process when he left Mönchengladbach after the season ended. He finished 10th last season, having been named last summer.
He had a spell at Russian club Krasnodar but left without headlining after the invasion of Ukraine.
The new Leeds manager will have to oversee a team overhaul, Expected that the players will leave the club this summer after being relegated from the Premier League. Sam Allardyce managed the last four games of the season but failed to win the wins needed to move out of the bottom three.
Players have a pay cut in their contracts in case of relegation, and some have a buyout clause that allows them to move this summer for a flat fee.
