The SAIC-GM joint venture has launched the second model of the new Electra electric lineup in the Chinese market – a mid-size coupe crossover with the E4 index . In terms of technology and equipment, it is still slightly different from the older Buick Electra E5.
Buick's Electra E5 crossover is the first of a new family of electric vehicles, and it entered the Chinese market in April of this year, and yesterday the slightly more compact and more dynamic-looking Buick Electra E4 went on sale. Both crossovers are based on the GM-developed Ultium electromobility modular platform, the front suspension is of the McPherson type, and the rear is an independent multi-link. The choice of power plants in the Buick Electra E4, as it turned out, is more modest than in the Electra E5, namely, there is no long-range single-engine Long Range version. The junior power plant is the only electric motor on the front axle with a return of 180 kW (245 hp) and 330 Nm in combination with a 65 kWh battery (3 kWh less than the equivalent version of the Electra E5), a full charge of which is enough for 530 km of run on the CLTC cycle. The single-engine Buick Electra E4 accelerates to 100 km/h in 7.6 seconds, with a top speed of 180 km/h.

The all-wheel-drive, twin-engined version of the Electra E4 is only available in conjunction with the rich GS (stands for Gran Sport) trim, which is essentially the equivalent of the Avenir trim on the Buick Electra E5, but the GS's status is lower. Features on the GS include high-gloss black exterior décor, 20-inch two-tone wheels with aerodynamic inserts, more refined laser-etched interior trim, and front bucket seats with integral headrests. The GS package is also available in combination with the basic single-engine powerplant.
In the 4WD version, the front electric motor produces 143 kW (194.5 hp) and 305 Nm, the rear – 68 kW (92.5 hp) and 160 Nm, the maximum total output is 211 kW (287 hp). ) and 465 Nm.
