The fact that Changan frame pickup will appear in Russia, Kolesa.ru reported last week. And now the local division of the company has officially announced the name of the model: we will sell the novelty as Hunter Plus. It should be noted that Changan has long been using the name Hunter in export markets, but the truck did not have a “surname” before: it is possible that it was needed so as not to conflict with UAZ.

In native China, this model was launched at the end of last year, where the pickup truck is called Lantuo, aka Lantop. The car is a more luxurious version of Changan's Kaicene F70 (Kaicene is a sub-brand of the company; F70 has been in service since 2019), the latter, in turn, was made together with the PSA concern (in Stellantis, the French auto giant will merge with the Italian-American FCA in 2021 -m). By the way, the “Chinese” have a brother from Peugeot – Landtrek. In China, Changan Lantuo/Lantop is positioned as a model for an audience that prefers an active lifestyle, but the Russian office of the brand decided to promote the Hunter Plus as a “business pickup”.
The model has a full-fledged two-row cab and a continuous rear axle with a spring suspension. In the home market, the truck is presented in two versions – standard and stretched. The length of the first is 5350 mm, the distance between the axles is 3180 mm; the indicators of the long-wheelbase version are 5600 and 3430 mm, respectively. The release of the Russian office of Changan speaks of a short version (load area dimensions: 1600/1595/500 mm), although a stretched pickup truck (platform length is 1850 mm) hangs on the website of one of the local dealers of the brand. The passport ground clearance of our Hunter Plus is 225 mm, the angle of entry is 28 degrees, the exit is 26 degrees.

The Russian Changan Hunter Plus is promised a “leather” interior, power seats, climate control, a multimedia system with a 12.3-inch touchscreen and a “set of electronic assistants”. The exact composition of the configurations will be revealed later, as well as prices. Sales will start before the end of June.
Meanwhile, along with the Changan pickup truck, a new crossover is also being brought to Russia: it is expected that this will be the CS75 Plus, that is, the second generation model.
