The French brand introduced the Peugeot 408 global cross-liftback last June. Recall that in the current line of the brand there is another model with the same index: a little earlier in the same month, the upgraded Peugeot 408 sedan, intended only for the Chinese market, debuted. Note that the global SUV is also designed for the PRC, but there an additional letter X was added to its name.

The Peugeot 408 was equipped with a matrix head optics with «fangs» of running lights, rims of the original design, the size of which varies from 17 to 20 inches. The interior of that model is also from the Peugeot 308, which means the presence of a 10-inch virtual “tidy” and a touchscreen of the infotainment system for the same 10 inches. A panoramic roof, a ten-speaker sound system and other options are available for an extra charge.
During the presentation, the company spoke about the engine range of the Peugeot 408. Then it was reported that the cross-liftback was equipped with a 1.2-liter Puretech gasoline turbo engine, the output of which is 130 hp. It is paired with an eight-speed automatic. There are also a couple of plug-in hybrids in the lineup, which are based on a 1.6-liter gasoline turbo engine with a capacity of 150 or 180 hp. The kit comes with an 8AKP, in which a 110-horsepower electric motor is integrated. The total return, depending on the version, is either 180 or 225 hp. Drive — only front. Such options have a battery capacity of 12.4 kWh, a range when driving on electric power alone — 60 km (according to the WLTP cycle).
Apparently, these are not all hybrids that are available in the range of the model.
