As Jack Grealish honestly explains the emotions that overwhelmed him during the best weekend of his life. His three-day celebration after completing Treble was booze-filled, chaotic, and glorious. By his own admission, he is different from other football players in that he says everything exactly as it is.
He appeared in St. George's Park on Tuesday evening «hungover, but I was not drunk or something in this way, «which added to it the status of a national treasure. It's not difficult to perform «Turkey» in a reflective jacket while having vodka poured down your throat, not that Grealish embellished it any other way.
Even at Old Trafford, home of rival Manchester City, he was cheered the most by fans when he signed for England a week after being in the midst of his epic booze. He is one of them who sincerely enjoys his success and does not apologize for it.
“I would never sit here and lie to you and say:“ Yes, I don’t drink and I don’t party, ”because that I drink, but then so many people come here and tell you, «I don't drink.» do it, I don't do it when they do,» he said.
“I'm just being honest, because when you see me doing something, you're like, 'Oh wait. He said in an interview a few weeks ago that he didn't do it.» But look, I'm just enjoying, I'm living my dream of playing for the best club in the world, in my opinion, we just won the Treble, so I'm obviously going to relax with my family and friends now, and then I'll be rushing there again in four weeks.”
His marathon party, which took him and his teammates to Ibiza for 12 hours, began just after the final whistle at the Atatürk Olympic Stadium as Manchester City completed the treble. When he saw his parents and sister Holly, he felt a surge of emotion. He relied on them for many years of support, even in the previous season when he was not in Pep Guardiola's team.

“Behind closed doors, I'm quite an emotional person, I'm so close to my family and stuff. As soon as we finished the game, I had tears in my eyes, I cried on the field, ”he said. “When I see my family, my mother, my little sister. It was just emotional. Then you see my dad, my dad took me to every game since I was six years old.
“Even last year you sit and think: didn’t I make the right decision, but “I didn’t have enough playing time, will I ever start?”. I came back from the World Cup and joined the team, I'm one of the main players, and then we go and win the treble. It was so emotional, man, but it was good emotion, if that makes any sense.
“Actually, for about two hours, I just couldn't get over it. Even Sunday, Monday, what followed, and what I spent with family and friends, with this group of players, with this staff, was the best weekend of my life.
“My emotions were so high. When I was camping on Thursday, it was the biggest weekend high I've had in my entire life. You come to the camp, you sit alone in your room and you think: «Will I ever feel so high again?» /> Calvin Phillips pours vodka into Grealish's mouth. Photo: Getty Images/Oli Scarff
Grealish was always going to take a rest before the Euro qualifier against Malta last week, but volunteered to participate in the shuttle races around midnight to prepare for the victory over North Macedonia. Wearing his baseball cap backwards after a 7-0 win, he told his FA attendant that he was happy to continue talking about his weekend of hedonism.
“I don't know what you guys read and sometimes think. To be honest, I have a great relationship with him [Gareth Southgate],” Grealish said. “I had a slight hangover, but I wasn’t drunk or anything like that. I came to the camp with other guys, we slept, then woke up and trained on Wednesday. We practiced on Thursday and, like I said, deep down I knew I wouldn't be playing on Friday.”
Did he get lost in the moment during the treble? It happened at the end of the season, which began on July 13 last year and included the World Cup and the historic treble.
“I knew what I was doing,” he laughed. “I'm not usually like this, but we won the treble and it will never happen again. So I went and had fun and I wasn't the only one — I think often you will see everyone record me, I could show you all this to other people where they were the same.
< p> “Look, we were all having fun, other people are having fun where there are no cameras, but it was just me having fun, I had the most successful season of my life. I just finished a 12 month season. I participated in the World Championship, won three trophies, and in four weeks I will return to training again. Why not have some fun?»
