Startup Metorbike GmbH from Germany brought to mind and launched a stylish electric moped with a built-in speaker system capable of generating sounds of various types of internal combustion engines .
Today, few people are surprised by electric motorcycles, they are regularly found on European roads, but the trouble is that when driving they emit only a dull trolley howl, while in classic, “hydrocarbon” motorcycles, the roar of the engine makes a significant contribution to driving pleasure. Michael and Marvin, the young mechanical engineers who founded Metorbike, set out to build a relatively inexpensive electric bike that looked and sounded like a gas bike. The development took about three years, last spring the friends certified their Metorbike and just launched it on sale.
1/4 2/4 3/4 4/4 motorcycle for short street racing). The Metorbike is based on a modified frame of the Puch AX40 moped, the front fork is taken from the Aprilia RS 125 light sportbike, the overall length is 1700 mm, the saddle height is 770 mm, the curb weight is 76 kg, the load capacity is 150 kg.
The electric motor is located in the center of the wheelbase and rotates the rear wheel through the chain, the maximum power of the electric motor is 7 kW (9.52 hp), the constant is 2 kW (2.72 hp). Spoked 17-inch wheels wrapped in vintage Kenda tires are equipped with disc brakes. The 44-volt lithium-ion battery is located in a gas tank-shaped case, its capacity is 1.63 kWh, and the range on a single charge is up to 60 km. Metorbike's top speed is limited to 49.5 km/h.
Metorbike's main hub is an ingenious speaker system docked to an electric motor in a finned case (imitation of an air-cooled internal combustion engine), which, when riding, generates a rich roar of a piston engine of a fairly powerful cafe racer, and the sound comes out through a carbon fiber resonator stylized as an exhaust pipe — everything looks it is very effective. There is a free space between the «tank» and the motor-sound module, where you can hang, for example, a grocery shopping bag by hooks. jpg» />
The First 50 Edition Metorbike starts at €7,749, which includes the only standard soundtrack, but the Multi-Klang-Pack is available as an option for €259, which already includes eight different engine sounds, including the straight-six and the mighty V10. Several saddle designs and various other decor and accessories are also available for an extra charge.
In addition, electric car manufacturers are also trying to solve the problem of the dull sound of their power plants and are developing a variety of whistles-simulators — such as the recently launched Abarth 500e electric hot hatch.
