On June 22, 2023, Avito Auto's Highest Gear conference was held in Kazan for car dealers and automotive industry professionals from Russia and the Republic of Tatarstan . As part of the event, the participants discussed trends in the automotive market of the region and the country as a whole, prospects for its development and new business solutions.
Representatives of the Avito platform took part in the conference Auto, the service for checking the history of cars «Avtoteka» and the service for managing key business processes of the car dealer «Autohub», as well as representatives of the dealership from Tatarstan «Dialogue Auto» and the Russian «FreshAvto». Speakers of the Avito platform presented an overview of key market trends in the Volga Federal District based on analytical data.
Prices for new cars are declining, for used cars they are rising: exclusive analytics from Avito Auto on the passenger car market in the Volga Federal District (data as of May 2023, yoy):
- in the new car segment, supply increased by 40% to 14,000 – competition in the region increased;
- demand in the new car segment increased by 31%;
- the average cost of new cars decreased by 3% and amounted to 3.2 million rubles;
- the share of Chinese brands increased from 13.2 to 42 .6%, Russian — from 24.5 to 30.7%, and all other foreign cars — decreased from 62.3 to 26.7%.
Vladislav noted the following trends in the car market with mileage in the Volga Federal District on the platform (data for May 2023, year on year):
- in the segment of used cars, the supply decreased by 3% and amounted to 215 thousand;
- demand for used cars increased by 26%;
- the cost of used cars increased by 21% and reached RUB 1.2 million;
- the share of offers for new cars from private individuals and of dealers is stable.

Top 10 models with the highest demand for Avito Auto (data for May 2023) in Russia: Audi Q7, BMW X7, Mercedes-Benz G-klasse, Volkswagen Touareg, Skoda Superb, Kia Seltos, Lexus LX, Hyundai Tucson, Chevrolet Cobalt and Mitsubishi L200.
In parallel imports on the Russian market offers from dealers prevail — 38% in the segment of new cars and 33% in the segment of used cars. Professional sellers account for another 20% of the market and 9% come from offers from individuals.
Chats, a fast-growing and effective traffic channel, have become more popular than calls on the platform for the first time
Vladislav stressed that in 2023, the share of buyers using chats has increased manifold. For the first time, the share of chats in communication between buyers and sellers exceeded the share of calls: over the past 2 years, the share of chats has increased from 37 to 60%. The expert notes that ignoring this trend can lead to a loss of traffic.
Representatives of dealerships also spoke at the event: Philip Izhikov, director of Dialog Auto used cars, and Dmitry Savchenko, development director of FreshAvto.

Avtoteka Senior Business Development Manager Konstantin Boldyrev spoke about a new service tool that was developed in response to the growing trend of parallel imports — checking cars for participation in foreign emergency auctions.
Avito Auction Leading Manager Sergey Anoshin shared the results of the service in Tatarstan. So, 70% of cars offered by private sellers to dealers through Avito Auction suit dealers for the price, 72% of cars offered by cars through Avito Auction suit dealers in terms of mileage. Sergey notes that Avito Auction brings 60% of unique traffic to car dealers in Russia.
Alexandra Klochkova, Senior HR business partner of Avito Auto, told how to work with the company's HR brand and increase employee engagement. Elizaveta Lomakina, Avito project manager, shared the principles of working with reputation and reviews on the platform.
