The Cupra Ateca cross made its debut in 2018, it became the first model of a separate sports brand Cupra, although it was made on the basis of the five-door Seat of the same name (Cupra's independent models appeared later). Both SUVs underwent restyling in 2020, and now the Cupra Ateca has been brought to the new model year.
The main thing is that the range of versions has been expanded. Previously, the “sportsman” was offered exclusively with a 2.0 TSI turbo four with 300 hp. and 400 Nm and 4Drive all-wheel drive (the original Seat Ateca does not have such power). Now, “simple” options with equipment from the related Seat are available for order (but Coupra still didn’t get the liter triple): you can choose Cupra Ateca with 1.5 TSI or 2.0 TSI petrol turbo engines with a capacity of 150 and 190 hp. respectively (250 and 320 Nm). All engines are combined with 7DSG (mechanics are still provided for the Seat Ateca), a SUV with a one and a half liter engine is only available with front-wheel drive, 190-horsepower is always all-wheel drive.

The German brochure Cupra Ateca states that a crossover with 1.5 TSI will pick up the first “hundred” in 9.3 seconds, with a younger version of 2.0 TSI – in 7.9 seconds. The top 300-horsepower SUV will do this exercise in 4.9 seconds. The maximum speed is 199, 212 and 250 km/h respectively.
There is one more new thing – a different rear diffuser. As before, the Cupra Ateca comes standard with LED optics, sports bucket seats, climate control, a 9.2-inch multimedia system and seven airbags. The model also has (already depending on the version) 19- or 20-inch wheels, adaptive DCC suspension and Brembo brakes.

Production of the Cupra Ateca with the new engines will begin in the third quarter. In Germany, for example, there are already prices: for a cross with 1.5 TSI they ask for at least 40,990 euros, a model with a 190-horsepower 2.0 TSI costs from 45,150 euros. Well, the price of a 300-strong SUV of the new model year starts at 50,900 euros.
