The Kaiyi E5 sedan has a new basic equipment in Russia

Instead of the CVT of the initial version, a mechanical gearbox is put. In addition, the list of available equipment has been cut down.

The Chinese Kaiyi E5 sedan (the brand is partly owned by Chery) was put on the assembly line of the Kaliningrad Avtotor in January of this year, sales started in March. At first, a Hyundai Elantra-sized model was offered in our only rich Luxury package. At the end of May, the four-door got a second version, but not the basic one that was expected, but even more expensive — Luxury +. And finally, Kaiyi E5 got hold of a more affordable version — it was called Comfort.

Like the «luxury» sedans, the base one is equipped with a 1.5 petrol turbo four (147 hp, 210 Nm). But instead of a CVT, the Kaiyi E5 Comfort has a five-speed mechanics. Drive in any case only front. According to the brand's consumer website, the «comfortable» four-door accelerates from zero to «hundred» in 9.8 seconds, while the CVT model will do this exercise in 10.5 seconds. The average fuel consumption of the 5MT version is 7 l/100 km in the combined cycle versus 7.5 l/100 km for the CVT sedan.

The Kaiyi E5 Comfort has halogen headlights and 16-inch wheels (Luxury and Luxury+ have LED headlights and 17-inch wheels). The tidy has a 3.5-inch monochrome screen instead of the 7-inch color one for Luxury (the package with the “plus” has a full-fledged 10-inch virtual tidy). Instead of a surround view system, there is one rear-view camera (with dynamic markings). Also excluded from the list of equipment are the drive mode selection system, interior contour lighting, a sunroof and wireless charging for a smartphone. » />

What's left? Multimedia system with 10.25-inch touchscreen, heated exterior mirrors, rear parking sensors, heated front seats, front and side airbags, climate control, cruise control. At the same time, curiously, in the arsenal of the “comfortable” sedan (again, judging by the description on the website) there are heated washer nozzles and a steering wheel: the Luxury version is not supposed to have such equipment, although Luxury Plus has it.

At the time of publication of the news, the price of the Kaiyi E5 Comfort has not yet been made public — obviously, this will be done in the near future. The recommended price of the Luxury version is 1,959,000 rubles, the Luxury + version will cost 1,999,000 rubles.
