Recently, SPEEDME.RU gave details about the technical characteristics of the new Kodiaq, and today the first photos of the interior of the second generation of the model began to be published on the Web. Photo spies were able to see the interior of the Czech Volkswagen Tiguan with its huge infotainment system sticking out of the «tidy». There are no standard controls around it, except for the lock release button, which is installed in the lower center.
The center air vents are no longer located on the sides of the touchscreen and have been moved under the display. Experts believe that a piece of fabric on the center console hides some of the controls in order to adjust the climate without having to set everything up from the infotainment system. Perceptive people may notice that the gear selector is now a lever on the steering wheel to free up space between the seats for additional storage.
Behind the familiar two-spoke steering wheel sits an all-digital 10.25-inch combination appliances with multiple warning lights. This is to be expected from an unfinished prototype, and experts are convinced that everything will be in order when Skoda enters series production.
All versions of the new Kodiaq will only be offered with a seven-speed dual-clutch automatic transmission , with the exception of the optional hybrid, as the electrified model will get a six-speed DSG.
Depending on the motor, buyers will opt for front- or all-wheel drive. The Kodiaq PHEV will combine a 1.5-litre TSI with an electric motor and a 25.7 kWh battery that provides an electric range of more than 100 km.
Skoda will introduce the new Kodiaq, probably this fall, along with the next Superb.
