Donald Trump has seen a spike in donations over the past three months as the former US president faces a storm of civil and criminal lawsuits.
His main fundraising committee, campaign insiders say raised more than $35 million in the second quarter, nearly double the amount it earned in the first three months of the year.
The official figures will be released by the FEC later this month, but it is already clear that the loyalty of the Trump base has increased.
The money was split between the Trump presidential election fund and his Save America political action committee, which to help pay his mounting legal bills.
A campaign insider told The Washington Post that the average donation was $34, indicating that «grassroots Republicans overwhelmingly support President Trump.»

Mr. Trump has used prosecutions he called witch hunts as a fundraising tool, making requests for cash within hours of appearing in court.
Supporters receive several calls for donations a day from Mr. Trump.
Sometimes he aims his fire at Joe Biden and the Democrats, but others target his enemies within the Republican Party.
For example, on Wednesday he lashed out at «disloyal Republicans who are trying to stop us in the primaries,» noting that they have raised $370 million.
«Why don't they promise to spend that money to defeat 'fraudster' Joe?» he asked.
“Because those duplicitous traitorous RINOs [''Republicans in name only''] would rather have four more years to Biden and Kamala than to anyone else.” someone who actually fights for the silent majority. .”
