One of the brightest new products of this year on the Russian market was the full-size SUV Tank 500, which is considered by many to replace the Land Cruiser. One of the features of the Japanese SUV is the presence of various exclusive and tuning versions, and we decided to imagine what the Tank could look like in this form.
The Tank brand appeared in the spring of 2021, its first model was an SUV with an index of 300. By the way, the online magazine kolesa.ru has already tested it twice — in the snows of mountainous Khakassia in early spring and at the end of June in urban conditions. The second model of the brand in Russia is the Tank 500, and we also tested it this spring. It is the flagship of the company in our country and one of the most expensive officially presented cars. It makes sense that many owners would want to make the SUV more personal, and we have pictured one of the options.

The “five hundredth” presented in the renders received a slightly lowered suspension: in the standard version, the officially declared ground clearance is 224 mm, so reducing this figure by a couple of centimeters will not turn an SUV into an SUV (for many of which a ground clearance of 150-160 mm is normal) , but will make it look more aggressive. New wheels with larger diameter discs were installed, the most striking change is a plastic body kit, consisting of updated bumpers, wide lining on wheel arches and sills, as well as a spoiler on the trunk lid.

The Tank 500 has a frame design and is equipped with a single V6 3.0 gasoline engine with two turbochargers and combined injection. In Russia, the engine produces 299 hp. and 500 Nm of torque, and at home in China, the power is slightly higher — 354 hp. with the same torque. The gearbox is also non-alternative — a nine-speed «automatic». Four-wheel drive is implemented according to the Torque on Demand scheme: thrust is constantly transferred to the rear axle, the front one is connected if necessary. There is a downshift and several driving modes for asphalt and off-road, including the so-called «expert» mode, with which the car can be «customized» (for example, disable all electronic assistants except ABS).

Today in Russia, the Tank 500 is offered in two trim levels, the initial Adventure is estimated at 6,299,000 rubles, the maximum Premium — at 600,000 rubles more.
Recall that earlier the Chinese company introduced the production version of the Tank 400 frame SUV.
