Banaya appears to have escaped this incident without serious injury
Reigning MotoGP World Champion Pekko Bagnaia was transferred to a medical center after he was run over at the start of the Catalan Grand Prix.
The 26-year-old Bagnaia appeared to fall off his Ducati as he was leading turn two in Barcelona and was hit by Brad Binder's next KTM, which he didn't have time to dodge the Italian.
The 2023 MotoGP World Champion was stuck in the middle of the track after a collision, and Binder fell and was able to get away from the crash site, falling into a gravel trap at turn three.

— Senator Heisenberg🔃 (@FernndoAlonso14) September 3, 2023MotoGP officials have confirmed that Bagnaya was conscious after the accident and was transferred to the circuit medical center for further examination. Medics gave him medical attention and then loaded him into an ambulance.
As Banagia was taken away, the fans applauded the Ducati racer, and team manager Davide Tardozzi was photographed in the pits comforting Banaia's fiancée Domitia Castagnini, who witnessed the accident on on television monitors.
The incident that immediately red-flagged the race was not the only major crash at the start. Five Ducati drivers crashed on the first corner before Bagnai's fall, resulting in the crash of his teammate Enea Bastianini, VR46 Racing's Davide Besecchi, Pramac's Johann Zarco, and both Gresini Racing drivers Alex Márquez and Fabio Di Giannantonio.
The organizers also confirmed that all drivers involved in the crash at Turn 1 were conscious.
After the race was stopped, the stewards confirmed that the restart procedure would begin approximately 20 minutes after the crash with a new race distance of 23 laps .
