Haima returns to Russia with 8S crossover and 7X compact van, prices announced

Both models will be offered with a 1.6 petrol turbo four and an automatic, no all-wheel drive. At the moment, two configurations are announced for each of the «Chinese».

Haima became famous primarily for cars made on the basis of old Mazda models, because the “celestial” brand was created with the participation of a Japanese manufacturer. Khaims were also sold in Russia, moreover, we even had an assembly set up. But in 2016, the brand ingloriously left our market due to weak demand. In 2017, the then representative office announced plans to resume deliveries to the Russian Federation, but this never happened. And then Haima began to rapidly lose customers at home. As a result, now the company practically does not operate in China, but its models are still present abroad: business is more or less brisk in Southeast Asia. Well, now Haima will again try to gain a foothold in Russia.

The official distributor of the brand was MVL Auto LLC, registered in Moscow last year. The new Russian website Haima (haima-auto.ru) has already been launched. According to him, now the dealer network includes salons in nine cities: Abakan, Berezovsky (Sverdlovsk region), Naberezhnye Chelny, Nizhny Novgorod, Rostov-on-Don, Stavropol, Surgut, Tyumen and Yaroslavl. It is curious that on the map each dealership is marked «Opening soon».

The Chinese brand returns with two models — the Haima 8S crossover, which looks like the «fourth» pre-reform Hyundai Santa Fe, and the Haima compact MPV 7X. At home, the serial SUV debuted in 2018, the van joined him a year later. Let's start with the SUV.

In Russia, the SUV will be available with a 1.6 TGDI petrol turbo four with a capacity of 195 hp. For some reason, the maximum torque varies: the website says 293 Nm, and the brochure says 280 Nm. Be that as it may, the engine can be «powered» by the AI-92. The box is a six-speed automatic, front-wheel drive only.

Crossover Haima 8S plan to sell in two trim levels. The initial Deluxe version has LED optics, a panoramic sunroof, front and side airbags, rear parking sensors, a multimedia system with a 10-inch screen, a rear view camera, and cruise control.
